What is Leave Settings?

The Leave Settings module in CRM LEAF helps organisations configure and manage employee leave policies. It includes settings for leave types, allotment rules, approval workflow, and general leave behaviour.

Leave General Settings

  • Configure how leaves are counted and approved:
  • Count leaves from the date of joining
  • Count leaves from the start of the year
  • Year Starts From: [Month]
    Note:
  • Approve means direct approval.
  • Pre-Approval means an additional review by admin or HR is required.
  • Reporting Manager can [approve/modify/view] the leave, depending on role settings.

Archived Leave Types

Previously deactivated or unused leave types remain stored for record-keeping.

Quick Actions – Leave Settings

Action How To
Add a New Leave Type Navigate to Leave Type Settings, click Add, and fill out the form.
Set General Leave Behavior Go to Leave General Settings to set start date rules and approval flow.
View Archived Leave Types Open Archived Leave Types to review or restore past configurations.
Assign Leave by Department/Role Use filters in leave types to assign specific leave rules by role or dept.

Q: Can I create leave types for specific departments only?
A: Yes, leave types can be assigned to particular departments and designations.
Q: What is the difference between “Approve” and “Pre-Approval”?
A: “Approve” allows direct manager approval. “Pre-Approval” needs further approval from HR/admin.
Q: Can I set different leave quotas monthly?
A: Yes, by setting a monthly limit in each leave type.
Q: How does the system calculate leaves for new employees?
A: You can choose to count from joining date or from the start of the year.
