# What are Story Points and How can I Add It?

**Story Point** is a term used in [**Scrum Project Management**](https://helpdesk.orangescrum.com/what-is-scrum-project-management-and-what-are-the-features-available-in-orangescrum/) to estimate the difficulty of implementing or completing the task. It is generally rated in the scale of 1-12 or 1-5 with 1 being the lowest.

There is no restriction of scale for **Story Points** in Orangescrum and you can add your own story point range to the tasks.

If the estimated story point is high then it can be broken into small sub-tasks. Please refer below steps to add Story Points to your Task;

1.  Login to your Orangescrum account.
2.  Click **Quick Links > Task**
3.  Provide required details, choose **Task Type** as **Story &** Click **Save & Exit** (Refer Image 1)
