Project calendar
See tasks, milestones and deadlines on a calendar, and sync them with Google Calendar.
The calendar plots tasks and milestones by date. Available on every tier.
It answers a question no other view answers well: what is landing this week, and is any of it colliding?
#What appears
| Item | Shown on |
|---|---|
| Tasks | Their due date, or spanning start to due |
| Milestones | Their target date |
| Sprints | Their date range ProPremium |
Filter by project, assignee, priority or label to cut the noise.
#Views
Deadline clustering. Where is the crunch week?
Day-to-day planning. What is due, and who is it on?
#What it's good for
Spotting deadline pile-ups
Six tasks due the same Friday is obvious on a calendar and invisible on a list. Move some now rather than discovering it that morning.
Planning around absence
Overlay who is away against what is due. Reassign before it becomes a problem, not after.
Client conversations
A calendar is the view non-technical stakeholders read without explanation.
Finding empty weeks
A stretch with nothing due usually means work is not dated, not that there is nothing to do.
#Google Calendar sync ProPremium
Push Orangescrum dates into Google Calendar so deadlines sit alongside meetings.
Connect the integration
See Google Workspace.
Choose what syncs
Usually your own assigned tasks and project milestones. Syncing everything buries your real calendar.
Check the direction
Sync is from Orangescrum to Google. Do not expect edits in Google to flow back.
Sync everything and you will read nothing
A calendar with forty task entries a day is a calendar people stop opening โ including for their actual meetings. Sync milestones and your own due dates.
#Making it accurate
The calendar only shows what has dates. If it looks empty, that is your finding:
Find undated work
Filter the task list for tasks with no due date.
Date what is committed
Anything promised to someone needs a date. Genuinely undated backlog items can stay undated โ that is what a backlog is for.
Keep dates honest
A due date that everyone knows is fictional trains people to ignore all due dates.
